I'm typically a blue steel and wood guy, but from time time I get a wild hare...... A couple weeks ago Hornhunter decided to put this Remington 700 KS for sale in the Classifieds. I'd long thought about a 300 H & H, and in all these years never took the opportunity to acquire one.......... Well today being a slow day, I thought I might enjoy fiddle-farting around. Sooooo, I decided to do a rattlecan finish on the KS. Used some Krylon ultra flat tan camo for the base coat, and some black and gold webbing spray for accent. Now just need to go next week and try to make an impression on a couple hill country hoglets. Best GWB

It looks much better now. I think those plain gray colored stocks like it was before are some of the ugliest stocks out there "Science only goes so far then God takes over."

I've never had a KS that I couldn't easily get down around the 1/2" mark. Great shooters.

Biebs, another factor that led to the purchase of this rifle was the fact that it had been accurized and rebarreled by Hill Country Rifle. I'm told HCR recommended 180 grainers. I won't be hotrodding it, but I'm thinking of loading 200 gr. Accubonds just for S & G's. I don't usually load that heavy in a 30 cal, but it might be fun to do and the 300 H & H should do an honest 2750 to 2800 fps with those bullets. I like that MV for makin' meat. Best GWB

Very well done. I did the same thing with the KS I bought last summer. It was extremely easy and like yours, the results were dramatic. Mine was made in the mid-80's but is still a proverbial tack-driver and loves 180 Partitions.
