Select is an upgrade over the regular 84m or 8400 classic stock. I have a select stock on my 84m and it is pretty . You can do much better on the price much better.

Thanks for the replys, I looked on G.B. and saw three,so i guess there not too rare, the stock i saw was pretty but had a lot of knots in it,are knots desirable ?A small one seems ok,but this stock had a bunch & the only figure was a little fiddle back stripe & no feathering. The wood was claro ,not the nice french walnut which is my favorite. The shop is known to be high priced,Thanks again for the help!

The French can be inconsistent as well as I have found out. I went to a shop on Saturday that had 5 classics in 8400 none appealed to me in the slightest and were rather plain. I guess you have to go to a couple of stocking dealers and find one you like best or rely on a photo from Gunbroker. My 84m was restocked by Kimber because of a warranty issue and it looks better then anything I have seen yet on Broker and 1/2 dozen stores in my area that carry them.
