Anyone loading this bullet in either 338-06 or 338WM.Whats your favorite powder. What speed are you getting and reaction of game taken.I like N150 or IMR4064 in my 338-06 at a little over 3000. I have two hunts back to back this fall one for WT Deer and then to Colo for Elk. I'm looking for a load that will do both.Thanks | ||

RL-15....don't remember the grains right now....but it gave a little under 3000 with no pressure signs. I got the load straight from the Barnes manual for the 185 XLC. Gary | |||

I used a compressed load of N550 with the 185 gr TSX in my 338-06 this past elk season. I took a nice 5x6 bull at a lasered 269 yards. The bull just dropped where he stood. Velocity is ~3000 fps and accuracy is superb. | |||
