CoolI shipped a 8mm x57 mod 98 to NE.It went to a C&R holder as it was in original condition and qualified as a C&R.
The postal clerk informed me that shipping cost was $15.65. I asked him if that was correct as I had paid more than twice that before and didn't want to cheat the Government. The folks in line got a big HA HA out of that.He said that was the right price even with $200.00 insurance. shocker
Well I want to thank all you tax paying post office supporting people for maintaining such reasonably a priced postal service. dancingroger tu2

fishingI had built a .358 whitworth Imp. Named after jack Whitworth a cohort of Fred Barnes. It is now a .358x.404 IMP.
do you think that both Whitworths are one and the same? Kinda doubt it. Coolroger

I'll pray for you that the P.O. (the anacronym is no coincidence) does not destroy your 8x57 like they did my flintlock then tell you to kiss your own ass for the insurance claim.

Good luck, brother Bartsche.

waveSo far the only experience I've had was in my custom fishing rod business. Was more than compesated on a number of occasions.
flameThe only thing going to be used is the action. They would have to go a long way to damage it. If the stock gets damaged and the insurance pays for it chances are I'll be money ahead. However , thinking positive is really in order. beerroger

Hope it all works out.

I have a post a page or three back in the classifieds. Feller shiped me a NIB CVA flint gun from Texas USPS insured. They had no problem taking the money to mail & insure it, knowing full well what it was. After they anhialated it in transit, they said they would not pay ta claim on "prohibited items". Their own mailing manual states in two sections that a blackpowder gun is not "prohibited".

My panties are only beginning to knot. This could get ugly.

fishingThe one I shipped before the 8mm cost right at $33.00. I think I upset the clerk when I asked if the cost was correct. He didn't want to addmitt his possible error. It shhould get to where it's going in two days. tu2roger

I once overnighted an AI AW in a starlight case to Tac Pro in Mingus, TX. Set my employer back $253. After that I've never minded the cost of regular ground freight!
