anyone have a 264 hawkeye

buddy has a new in the box one and i was just wondering how they shot before i plunk down the cash. Ive been stung by to many ruger bolts and hate to buy another lemon.

Sorry may not be the answer your looking for but every rifle is its own entity, you have to shoot it to find out. I believe the hawkeye has a 24" barrel which is a mistake in my opinion, it should have a 26" tube. The new triggers are supposed to be pretty good. I would buy it and try it, cant go wrong with a 6.5mm anything dancing

I have two Ruger Mark II 264s Stainless Rifles.Both shoot under 1/2" at 100 yards with Lapula 155 gr mega tip bullets and H-870 powder.I have had lots of good luck with these guns.They have the heavier barrel likethe 338 win mag does.They are very accurate.The only bad thing is they are short throated.I am afraid to lengthen mine because they are so accurate.I wish i had a Weatherby Accumark 28" barreled 264 that would be awesome.Those Rugers 77 stainless rifles are pronghorn and deer getters that will last you a life time.
