I need some help guys. I am looking for a new bullet for my 7mm stw, tired of all that barnes fouling. Unfortunately with my limited free time before deer season, I need some advice from some people who have tried either of the above. I'm looking at the 139 gr interbond and 140 gr accubond. I welcome all suggestions or starting loads. I've read some magazine articles where the accubond accuracy was less than desirable, but want to hear from the real world. The game is whitetail at various ranges. I want a bullet that is reliable and accurate.

I think the 154 grain Hornady Interbond would be better. Will shoot just about as flat and will hit harder out there.

80 grains of H1000 (72 grains start) and 0.02" off the lands should be about right.

Jackfish, you have any IMR7828 loads for that Interbond?

Since I haven't had any really good luck w/ the 154grIB, I would opt for the 160grAB. It shoots well for me from my 7mm Dakota & my .280.

A maximum load 78 grains of IMR7828 (72 grains start) and the bullet seated 0.02" off the lands for about 3325 fps. Work up carefully from 72 grains toward the maximum of 78 grains watching for signs of excessive pressure or velocity.

I am getting 3480fps and 3520fps out of my two 7mmstw's both using 80gr of imr7828 and 140gr bullets.

This is what causes bullet integrity problems, the use of LESS than super premiums like Nosler partitions, Swift A frames, Northforks, and monolithics is what causes bullet failures at those inflated velocities..and then everyone yells bad bullets!!

Use a super premium bullet in the 7 STW or slow it down to .280 velocities...

Rawy,
I was under the assumption that the accubond was a bonded bullet with strength equal to a partition. I've tried the partitions and the groups weren't that good. I shoot barnes x bullets now, but the fouling on my factory barrel is becoming a headache, cleaning after 9-10 shots. Should I worry about the accubond or interbond at 3400 - 3500 fps out of the barrel?

The .284" 154 grain Hornady Interbond at 3300+ fps would be an excellent choice for deer in your 7mm STW. The Hornady Interbond is a well-designed bonded core bullet and will certainly outperform a Nosler Partition.

Have you tried the Barnes TSX (Triple Shock) 140 grain bullet?

They shoot real good in my 7mm-08 with very little fowling.
I get more fowling with Nosler Accubond.
I could not get the Interbonds to group as well as the other two.
