i just got a new Kimber Montana in 325wsm i have been working up a load and i have found a load that groups good but it is not close to the max load. When i move any closer to the max the group opens up.should i just leave it.

I have used 3 different bullets starting at min and work up to max. the only load that grouped under 1 inch is 64grn 760 win with 200 tsx and 215mag large rifle primers. i am new to reloading so i have only used the win 760 and 215 mlr. Im moving to Alaska in Feb and try to get this worked out before i leave.

Try plain large rifle primers. Most of my WSM shoot a tighter group with a large rifle primers, than mag. primers.

Here's 4 loads including a factory load that worked well in mine:

I used Winchester brass and Federal GM215M primers in all the loads........................DJ

....Remember that this is all supposed to be for fun!..................

for a hunting rifle will a 150 fps make any noticeable difference right now it seems my groups are improving as long as i don't go over 64grn of 760 and stick with TSX's. When i frist got the rifle i started with Accubonds and could not get under 3 inches was very worried with what i had read about the kimber rep but the more i shoot it the more i like it at around 125 rounds its looks promising. Thanks to all that have replied

Have you tryed bullets with a different shape? Maybe like Norma oryx 200g, or a 220g bullet.

Are you trying different powders, or just different bullets with the same powder? I see good results around here with RL powders, 17 and 19.

If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

i have only tried one powder and getting good groups just not at the fps i would like. i will give the IMR 4831 . what do you all do with components that you are not getting the results you were looking for. i have just been firing it to get more rounds though the barrel but it seems to be a wast of money.
