Usually the cost of reboring a barrel exceeds the cost of rebarreling with a premium barrel. I have not priced barrels for the #1 but I know they are considerably more expensive than those for the typical bolt rifle. In this case reboring might be a viable alternative. I have seen reboring services offered by a couple of the major barrel makers in the U.S.A.
If you are simply bored with the 270, you might consider having the rifle rechambered to 270 Wea Mag. It should be fairly ecenomical to have the modifications done to let it handle the magnum configuration. Or if you are feeling adventurous, there are many wildcat cartridges available in 270 cal. Some based on the 300 Win necked to 270, or you could try a wildcat based on the ultramag family in long, medium, or short length.
The rechambering job is usually much more ecenomical than rebarreling, especially so with a #1.
If these options are not attractive to you. The option remains to find another #1 in the same configuration as yours and in the desired cartridge, then have the trigger tuned.
You will find that many of us, if not the majority, whom participate on these boards have traded off perfectly good firearms just for the chance to try something different. Some have even lamented the loss of that sweet little whatever it was at a later date. But sometimes you just have to scratch an itch.
