IMR4064 worked very well for me and gave <1MOA at 100yds. RL15 should do very well also. I don't load the 200 grs anymore as I want the knockdown results that the 225 and 250 grs give on larger animals such as wild boar.

I have some 3031 and did work up some loads to the max listed on the Hodgen website. Seemed mild to me. I am using the Round nos corelokt which opened really quick in my sand box test using the top load.

I have been using IMR4064 for 200, 225 & 250. I do use 3031 for my 200 cast and am getting good results. Have tried the Reloader 15 with OK results. Course every gun has its favorite. Really don't think you could go wrong with any one of them.

I wonder? If those 180 gr. bullets can be pushed to 3000 FPS, how fast would a 150 gr. Remington Core-lokt made for the .350 Rem. Mag. be loaded to in a .35 Whelen? FWIW, I have about 700 of those bullets. I got them at the request of someone on another site. He asked that I buy as many as I could find and he'd take them all. Turned out it was 808 bullets. Then, he says he only wanted about 100 so I say OK. then he tells me to phuck off. I sold 100 to a friend who has a .357 Herrett but I haven't bothered with them for either my .358 Win. (Might be an option.) or my .35 Whelen. They do seem to defeat the purpose of a .35 caliber rifle though. Paul B.

I agree that the 200 grain bullets are not really what the Whelen was planned for. But for Whitetails and feral hogs at up to 200 yards I think they will deliver desired results. At least in my 358 the 200 grain Round nose corelokt has performed really well pushed to 2450 fps. The 180 grain Hornady pistol bullet might get some play once I shoot up all the 200 grain RN's I have.

speaking of the 180 grain pistol bullets, I killed a small doe his year with a jhp, 180 Rem .357, pushed to near max pressure by wc846. I don't know how fast, but it is not a light load. A 100 yard broadside shot through the lungs penetrated completely, and left a 1" exit wound. The deer dropped and died quickly.
I would use that combination on a similar shot again.
