I just picked up two Remington 700 ADL at WalMart on clearance they are clean barrels with no iron sights. One is 30-06 the other is .243 I will be topping these both with a Nikon 3x9x40 Monarch with Leupold rings and bases. What is the perfect ring height for this combo? Thanks All Ted ________________________________________________ Maker of The Frankenstud Sling Keeper Proudly made in the USA Acepting all forms of payment

I would use medium's with a 40 mm objective. Don

Do you have the same rifle/scope combo as mine? ________________________________________________ Maker of The Frankenstud Sling Keeper Proudly made in the USA Acepting all forms of payment

ted, Leupold has a scope ring height calculator on their website. Plug in scope OB diameter and select rifle make. Check it out. BTW, the Nikon 3-9x40 Monarch is a excellent scope.

Ted, the Lows will barely clear with the 40mm Leupie and Nikon Scopes but, I've gotten away from them due to improper eye alignment. I have to really press my check down hard on the stock to get low enough for the low rings. The mediums are the way to go IMO. Good Luck Reloader

Ted, I've tried several different rings and bases as many others have on here. I've been slowly getting away from the leupold type mounts for two reasons: weight and the way the rings mount to the bases. I much prefer Talley lightweights. They are much lighter, the base and lower portion of the ring are made together. They seem to make the gun balance better for me and the lows work out real well with 40mm and smaller objectives. Check them out. JMHO though Straight shootin to ya

Just another thought they are a little taller than leupold lows. Straight shootin to ya
