Who makes the best 9.3x62 reloading dies? I have heard that RCBS makes their 9.3x62 full length sizing die with the same base diameter as their .30-06 die, and therefore overwork the brass at this critical point. I would rather have a set of dies with RCBS quality but with proper dimensions to size the brass for reliable chambering and no more. So who’s 9.3x62 dies should I look for?

I had the same problem, and solved it by having Hornady make me a set of custom dies with dimensions specified from brass fired in my chamber.
Works a charm. Custom dimensions mean I can size without an expander. Smoother than anything, and zero runout.

I tried RCBS 9.3X62 dies first because a local dealer had them in stock. They loaded fairly accurate ammo but I was getting .004-.005 bullet runout. I replaced them with Redding dies and got consistent .002 runout and better accuracy. The Reddings were almost twice the price of the RCBS, but I believe they are worth the difference. My brass life seems to be extremely good; 14 loadings with one batch.
I have a couple of sets of RCBS FL 9.3x62 dies, and have loaded a few hundred rounds with them. As far as accuracy, I consistently shoot one hole "groups" at 100 yards, and I can't expect much better than that.
I do have Redding dies in a couple of other calibers, and I actually like them better. Nothing against the RCBS dies, but as soon as I find a deal on a set of Reddings, I will be replacing the RCBS with Redding for my 9.3x62 too.

I haven't used them much, yet, but my RCBS dies seem to be giving me loads that are consistantly MOA out of my two 9.3x62s. We'll see how these rounds shoot in my new 9.3x62. I usually shoose RCBS because their HQ is nearby.

I've got a set of RCBS dies in 9,3x62 and the brass just keeps going and going. No problems after 8-10 reloadings of the same brass. There may be better dies but these are good enough for me.

I have been slowly switching over to Redding dies for all the rifle cartridges I load for. Was buying Lee and RCBS but the overall quality on the Reddings beats them hands down. The only Lee that I would still buy over the others is the Collet neck sizer though.

All the manufacturers make good dies and every now and then you can get a dud, i know i have. For the 9.3x62 i like LYMAN. They have done a great job for me. They are also a good price.

I like LYMAN. Just oil them before you put them away so they don't rust. The inside was polished up well and they worked fine and accuracy is good. I don't measure runout.

REDDING! My rcbs 9.3x62 dies were crap! The base was the same as 30-06. Too small.

Has anyone tried the new Hornady CGND dies in this caliber? I see where "MHO" had a custom set made but I am inquiring as to the standard factory dies.
I would like to support Hornady as they are now making brass in this caliber and among component manufacturers, they have been very responsive to the needs of big bore shooters and reloaders with their components and ammo.
I have always been a RCBS customer but the comments on the base size of their die makes me think of Redding or Hornady as an option as I am just starting to gather components for my new custom 9.3x62.
Thanks,
RCG

One thing about the RCBS dies (which I have) is that they have an expander ball to use on 30-06 cases.
From the Speer reloading manual: "Case forming can be as simple as necking up 30-06 or 35 Whelen cases in the 9.3x62mm sizer die. RCBS dies for this cartridge have a special expander ball to perform this operation in one pass..."
As far as the die reducing the base diameter, I just "mic-ed" a brand new unfired Norma case and get .473 inches. I resized a 30-06 case in the die and it mic-ed at .463 inches.
I like RCBS, I like Redding better, and Hornaday makes good dies as well. Frankly, I like RCBS and Redding better than Hornaday because their die boxes stack better in my reloading bench and Hornaday has an extra big box that doesn't fit!
