Anyone know what the cartridge is called or what velocities someone can expect from a 9.3X62 or 9.3X66mm Sako necked down to .30 cal might be? Just curious. Cheers!

The 9,3x62 necked down would be a 30-06 improved. The shoulder is moved forward on the 9,3x62. The 9,3x66 would be called the how-the-heck-did-you-get-the-brass-06.........DJ ....Remember that this is all supposed to be for fun!..................

Correct me if I am wrong ( don't worry seafire, someone will). But a 66mm case, so neck a 9.3 x 66 down to 30 caliber. It sure sounds awfully close to the old 1903 Springfield to me. A 280 is 66 mm if I am not mistaken. Don't have any around at the moment or I would measure it. Once again, a new idea that is about 100 yrs old. cheers, seafire
