To let you all know, Frank Martinez here at AR picked up all my rifles and loading components yesterday to sell on consignment for me. If there is anything you are interested in, contact him by PM.

AC,
You are getting rid of all your guns?

Speer, Sierra, Lyman, Hornady, Hodgdon have reliable reloading data. You won't find it on so and so's web page.

My heart is so bad I can't stand up for more than two or three minutes at a time without passing out, can't walk or drive anymore, am on 13 different pills a day to keep the ticker going, etc.

So...as I can't shoot, or even lift a rifle to my shoulder anymore, plus am going blind from lack of blood flow, it is time to recognize what God is telling me.

Having all my guns around is pure mental torment...I love the outdoors, hunting & fishing, guiding, and all of the shooting sports to boot so very, very much, that I feel like sobbing whenever I see or think of any one of them. Ditto with my loading equipment and components.

I am keeping my lever guns, just because they are what I learned to shoot with 70 some years ago I can't override the nostalgia they carry. But everything else is going.

My arrangement with Frank is that he will post all the guns on AR first (with pictures). Any which don't sell within two weeks will be posted on 24-hour campfire. Those which don't sell there will go to places such as Guns International, Gunbroker, etc. He will also be taking selected ones to gun shows once they've been posted on AR for two weeks.

There are some specialized real collectibles in there, as well as lots and lots of just plain good stuff.

Cheers. tu2 I will still be blabbing on AR as long as physically possible.

It has been a wonderful ride, and I wish I could live it all over again 15 or 20 times.

But it is what it is.

Best wishes,

Lloyd (AC)

God Bless you Lloyd,

AC, I always found your posts to provide solid and interesting information based on a lot of experience, and a love for a life of outdoor adventure. I'm glad to hear you plan to continue to share your knowledge and experience.

Your most recent post is a fine lesson in how a man faces adversity.

When you get back to writing, I'd like to hear more about your Alberta adventures. My daughter is currently living in Edmonton, while I'm a "ratlander" as the Albertans call us people from Saskatchewan. Of course a lot of Albertans have moved here in recent years, following the oil rigs.

I can honestly say I have had a great time even under the circumstances. There is a wealth of knowledge here and even as ill as he is Lloyd has the mental acuity rarely bestowed on any one person. While looking through the safe and trying my best not to drool too much I was intently listening to story upon story about his life and travels and it is very obvious that his love of shooting has not wavered even a little bit.
I would love one day to be able to see a list of shooters, industry magnate and the other shakers and movers Loyd has worked with and shot with throughout his career.
You are all in for a treat when I am able to start posting photos of his creations.

Dave....I'm really sorry the oil rigs (and the opportunists are flooding into Saskatchewan. The 5 years I lived there were among the happiest of my life. I truly love that province. There is no place in the world with better (or even equal) bird game hunting.

As to fishing, Northern Sask is better than any place I ever have been (including NZ).

The rolling hills and grasslands of SW Saskatchewan are like classical sirens calling me all the time. I only moved back to Alberta because my wife insisted on living in Calgary so her horses could compete at Spruce Meadows.

Alberta Canuck, I didn't know you are also a "Saskatchewan Canuck". You're not in any kind of rut, are you.

"The 5 years I lived there were among the happiest of my life. I truly love that province. There is no place in the world with better (or even equal) bird game hunting.

As to fishing, Northern Sask is better than any place I ever have been (including NZ).

It's so easy to get wrapped up thinking of faraway places and forget what's right in front of us. I confess I haven't always appreciated all Saskatchewan has to offer.

The bird hunting is good all right. Long ago I heard Bing Crosby doing a radio interview just before Christmas, they had played his "White Christmas" song. Bing said something like "and I want to send special greetings out to my hunting buddies at Swift Current, Saskatchewan".

I recall once at the airport leaving Anticosti Island after a deer hunt. Another hunter overheard a friend wishing me a safe trip home, and came over to say, "You live in Saskatchewan? And you come HERE to hunt deer?"

I share your love of the "great southwest" of Saskatchewan, I shot my first mule deer 40 years ago, about two miles north of where the Frenchman River crosses into the USA. That area is now in the Grassland National Park so my wife and I do our mule deer hunting further west, southwest of Swift Current mostly.

Anyway you've made me realize I need to count my blessings! I'm happy you have so many good memories and hope you'll share more of them.
