| My 30-06 is a M-70 FWT (post 64) woth a 3x9 Leupold ultralight scope
I don't have a scale that will do it justice in weighing butit's as heavy as I want a hunting rifle to be. I'm guessing about 7.5 pounds loaded and hunting ready. |

| ULA M24 with Leupold VX II 2-7, 5 1/2 lbs scoped but empty. You don't need to hear the shot to know its gone off!!!

| having several in that chambering..
my favorite is split between a model 70, and a 1917 Enfield..
the Enfield is the heaviest, but also you notice the recoil the least..
it is long throated also, and will digest some pretty stout loads with nary a hiccup..like a 200 grain bullet at 2950 fps...an no it is not an AI...
for having a 1918 made Rem barrel on it ( Winchester Action tho), that is one scary accurate rifle... |

You get 2950 with a 200gr? Wow! How long is the barrel? My Rem 700 -06 weighs 7lbs with VXII 2-7 compact.

| my ruger mk2 w/3x9x40 leupy, sling, and loaded is right at 8.5 lbs. has been glass bedded and a decellerator pad added. weight isn't a problem. about to buy a model 70 super grade in 270 win and i believe just the rifle weighs 8 lbs. it won't matter to me though. |

| My A-Bolt with the older Zeiss 3-9x36 Diavari, sling and four rounds weighs 6.5. I've found that's really about as light as I'd want a rifle to be if I might want to shoot it over 150 yrds... even supported. I've got a Titanium 7mm 08 I use as a mountain rifle that's a good bit lighter, but it's much harder to shoot consistently. My 7mm mag bean field gun weighs about 12 lb.s loaded.
