I've come upon several boxes of Federal 35 Whelen ammo loaded with the 225 TBBC bullet. I can buy the loaded ammo cheaper than the bear claw bullets. Has anyone here used this ammunition? Planned use will be on moose and caribou.

Yup, good stuff. I think Federal has discontinued this loads, IIRC - I didn't see it on their website last time I was there... I hope I am wrong...

I have only used it in preparation for an Elk Hunt. It shot fine in my M700 Classic. I would think that it would work good for Moose as I have used Remington factory ammo on Moose and Caribou with success, and that was anemic ammo!

A few folks I know have used it in Africa on plains game and were very happy with the results. BigBullet BigBullet "Half the FUN of the travel is the esthetic of LOSTNESS" Ray Bradbury https://www.facebook.com/Natal...443607135825/?ref=hl

You won't find a better 35 W factory load. Remember, forgivness is easier to get than permission.

I've got a stash of it but have never killed anything with it. Reports around here are good. Okie John "The 30-06 works. Period." --Finn Aagaard
