I am using smaller caliber GMX's and they perform just like the Barnes but will not be using the 185 in 338 myself. I would opt. for a 210 barnes or 225/250 partitions.

No difference but I like the Hornady's better because they offer higher Ballistic Coefficients. The 338 185 GMX has a .420 BC which is pretty good for a 338 caliber bullet.

I am not looking forward to the day when lead is banned from hunting bullets. These GMX's are fine for heavier game such as elk, moose, etc... but I like the greater expansion of the Nosler BT's on thinned skin game better.

Captain,

I do believe Barnes advertises their tipped TSX as being a more rapid expansion bullet best suited for CXP2 sized game.

If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

i personally prefer a 210 nosler for both deer and elk. i always have got my 338 to preform the best with them. i am currantly testing sierra 215 in my 338 as my friend has been having great luck with the 250 out of his 338/378. including dropping a 7x8 bull elk this year

Can anybody tell me the length of the 185 GMX inrelation to a standard 225 or 250 grain .338 bullet? I would be interested to know.
