GOING TO PURCHASE A WBY.300 MAG. QUESTION I HAVE IS, THE ACCUMARK IS $1695 CAN. AND THE WBY. SYNTHETIC IS $985 CAN. I DON'T FEEL I NEED THE FLUTTED BARREL. IS THE ACCUMARK STOCK IS THAT MUCH BETTER? OR WOULD I BE BETTER OFF TO BUY THE SYNTHETIC AND BUY A HIGH QUALITY CUSTOM SYNTHETIC STOCK? IF THIS IS THE BEST CHOICE, WHICH CUSTOM SYNTHETIC STOCK IS NEAR BULLET PROOF? GRIZZ

I believe that the Accumark stocks are now made by Butler Creek. Originally they were made by HS Precision. If I were you, I would buy the synthetic and see how it shoots before I worried about changing the stock. That $600-700 differance will buy you a very nice aftermarket stock. You can go with the HS for about $450 Cdn, or blow a bunch more and get a McMillan. As for the differance between the Accumark and the synthetic, well, differant synthetic material, and an aluminium bedding block are about it (oh, and a snazzy paint job). Hope this helps. - Dan

I have tried several stocks including mcmillan and h-s precision.I now use nothing but mcmillan. If I were you I would skip the weatherby altogether and go with a 300 ultramag.I used to have a fibremark in 300 weatherby but am much happier with the ultramag.Velocity is better and the cost of ammunition is cheaper than factory weatherby loads.
