I have no experience with the Vanguard, but I do have a couple of CZ 550's. One is a 550 American in 9.3x62 that can really shoot. One hole groups all day long if I do my part. The other is a 550 FS in 6.5x55. My 6.5 will put 5 shots under 1 inch, just not the one holers like the 9.3.
I really like the way the American fits and feels, it is my favorite rifle. I also like the SS trigers on the CZ's.

No experience with the CZ but I've owned two Sub MOAs. First was a .257 W. Mag that shot clover leafs all day long. The second, which I own now, is a .308 that is shooting .75" MOA with my handloads. Really like it and the feel of it....

It's your choice, there both great rifles. I'd say the one you can get the best price on. I had a Vanguard when the first came out and it was wonderfully accurate. I kick myself for selling it. I own 4 CZ's and love them. Super accurate, tough, and a price that's hard to beat. The set trigger makes obtaining sub minute of angle groups easier. Couldn't you come up with an easier choice?

the set trigger on a CZ (IMHO, but one widely shared) is awesome for hunting. The lighter a trigger pull you can handle the more accurate a rifle will shoot. I shot benchrest for several years, and once I got used to a 1 1/2ounce trigger it was wonderful. The CZ is also a Mauser, and that claw extractor spells peace of mind.
