I am looking for some good loads forthe above caliber and bullet combination. Gun will be for mostly deer but will be used on any big game I may one day get a chance to hunt.

That is my bullet of choice for my 280 AI.

I run Reloader 22- 65.0 grains.
CCI #200 lg. rifle primer


But, you will have to work up to that in yours. It shoots excellent, and just hammers anything you hit with it.

I'm shooting that bullet in my 280 AI as well. I'm running H4350 at 3100 fps in my 22" barrel.

Reloader 22 for me as well as N-170, near max was needed to get the TTSX to work for me. This rig was a Cooper 280 rechambered to AI, and the factory barrel was a little rough. It takes me a good bit of break in to get the XXX series of bullets to shoot good for me. I firelapped a couple of barrels to get them to shoot the XXX's like I wanted.

Haven't had that issue with custom barrels such as Krieger, Lilja, Obermeyer etc.

Mine is on the way to my FFL as a Ruger .280 that has semi customized already. I have a gunsmith buddy who is going to rechamber the factory barrel to the AI for me so I don't have to break the bank on a custom barrel. I already have a very custom Remington so I didn't want to go wild on this Ruger. I will try RL-22 because I already have some of that for my 25-06.
