OK Lawndart, since you seem to be cornering the market on 9,3's I'm thinking it might be time to add some completely useless trivial comments to your adventure. First of all they aren't 9.3x62's and 9.3x64's they are 9,3x62's and 9,3x64's. Mr. Boch and Brenneke being germans use comma's and decimals the reverse of what we do. (OK I did warn you that it was worthless trivia). But just to really confuse matters I looked up the Sako catalog in Finnish to see how they listed the 9?3x66. The listed it as 9,3x66 but then 9.3x62 and 9.3x74R????? No wonder we're confused. The only usefull point being that it reminded me that you need to scrounge up an old Finnish Moisin-Nagant to rebore to 9.3x53R - I've got the loading Data in an old Lapua manual. ....Remember that this is all supposed to be for fun!..................

How did you know that I was planning on re-doing a commie rifle to 9.3 x 53R?? Erkki Kauppi sent me a 9.3 x 53R dummy round. It looks like an improvement over the old 30-30. There is a lot of Kraut blood flowing in my veins. When we finally do conquer the world, everyone will have to use commas instead of decimal points when describing cartridges . LD

LD, you are scaring me. Commas are for use in punctuation, writing, composition, not and never in mathematics or cartridge nomenclature. I must confess though, that I am biased. I liked it better when there were two smaller antagonistic Germanys. In fact, I think the older system of four tiny little and separate Germanys was best. One American, one French, one British and one Russian. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

Met an old guy in the Czech Rep last year. He was carrying an old Eduard Kettner drilling, 16bore sxs hammer gun over a 9.3x72R rifle barrel. It was a lovely old thing. Handled like a good shotgun, you wouldn't have thought there was a rifle barrel in there at all. He said the 9.3x72R had a trajectory like a mortar. Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

I think the chart is bogus. But I'm not Scotch-Irish. Where was that country anyway? But seriously, if you take the English, the Irish and the Scotch Irish (basically the Anglos) you get the real majority and we outnumber the sausage makers. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

We must all join together to destroy those who would destroy us! Half of my blood is from Bavaria (und Silesia), the other half from Alsace Lorraine. I am American, and I have feet in two countries in Europe. The English can't cook, but they did perfect the double rifle, so they are welcome in my camp any time. The Finns kicked some serious Soviet ass, so I am proud to call them my brothers. I will always fight to defend Viborg and Herning, in Danmark. I was treated very well there when I was flying out of Karup (on the Jutland penninsula). Does anyone know what twist rate the new Soviet 9.3 x 64Br sniper rifle has?

My blood is 1/4 Bavarian, 1/4 Alsatian, and 1/2 Prussian (the Prussian half is dearest to my heart). Gott mit Uns!

Lawndart: When you come to Finland we´ll try to visit Viborg -I haven´t been there myself yet and the towns history is interesting. There were a lot of Germans in Viborg before the Revolution, they we´re master craftsmen, businessmen etc.

cewe, That makes sense. Viborg looks much more "classic" than Herning. Good ice cream available in both places. Karup is a nice air field. Good flying out over the North Sea. Jens, I'll drop by for sure. I loved my time in Danmark. Plenty of Wack-a-doodles in Copenhaven, but that is the same as any big city. We stole the Black Grouse mascot from the air base at Karup, and smuggled it back into the US. We mailed it to the USAF, and let them figure out how to get it back through both US and Danish customs. Some colonel came to yell at us, but we just laughed (and laughed). LD
