Is this rifle a solid tool? I have only one rifle now and want something not so powerfull. I have a Tikka T3 Battue 9,3x62 now. It looks more classic than the Tikka. And have less recoil and suit fox and roe deer hunt. Any experians about the M 21 ?

It's an excellent rifle. About as good as it gets for a light rifle without going the custom route. You won't find anybody that has anything bad to say about them.

I problaby buy this rifle then. It is so cheap so it is hard to stay away from it!The Rifle is in good shape, and I like the caliber also.
Any idea what it is worth?

Can you post any pictures? What year was it made? There is a two year date stamp on the left side of the barrel near the receiver.

I think that the better examples are going for $1,500 to $1,700. You're not likely to find many pristine examples. It is certainly enough rifle for most everything up Moose.

Values vary, depending on how much butchering has taken place during the last 50 years.

The bottom line is that they are among the finest crafted production rifles made since WWII. I would rate them 2nd only to Mannlicher-Schoenauers in craftsmanship, and possibly equal to them in function.

I picked up mine from a local gunshop after it tempted me for almost a year. I was rewarded for the wait. $900 out the door and I sold the vintage scope for $85, so $815 all in...now with custom bases and a custom Leupold, I wouldn't sell it for less that $2,500.

My best example is almost as pristine as that shown by Trax and also has very pretty Q-sawn wood grain in the stock.

But my "roundbolt" now re-chambered to .280Rem. is my favourite of the five 21/22 series rifles I have had. I now have the two plus a pristine '54 vintage action for a custom build when I can afford it.

I consider these about the best production rifles ever built and prefer them to MS models....but, I ain't partin' with my lovely MS carbine, either!

Buy it, load 200NPs over H-4350 and go shoot Moose!

I have no picture on it but it looks good. And I do not know howe old it is , it have safety on right side. Shop asking 150USD so it is cheap. Gone check that it still for sale and buy it!

If it's the one thats for sale on a well known internet site you should be aware that it has been drilled and tapped for scope mounts other than those that are already there (drilled for weavers). That lowers value right off! I bought that gun a while ago and were severly dissapointed that it was drilled which had not been mentioned buy the selling company. They took it back after a bit of arguing. If the extra holes doesn't bother you it is in very (!)good shape except for some semi deep scratches in the stock.
