Hey men, I'm loading up some 160gr tsx 7mm Rem Mag loads for my brother. Has anyone tried the load listed on Barnes' website, with 55.5-63gr of RL25? Looking for experiences before I have him buy the powder . . . Thanks in advance for an tips, -eric " . . . a gun is better worn and with bloom off---So is a saddle---People too by God." -EH

Hey Teat Hound.. No experience with RL-25...but I have had great luck with 63 grs of RL-22 and the 160 TSX in 7mm mag...shooting Rem 700 with 26 in. tube. Give it a try. Cheers

I recently worked up loads for a friend for a Remington 700 action with a 26 inch Lilja barrel chambered in 7mm Rem Mag. I tried RL 22 and RL 25 both. The RL 22 shot better groups. Both were capable of over 3000 fps with the 160 grain TSX. I do not know why Barnes publishes such mild data for the 7 Rem Mag with the 160 TSX. Based on previous experience with several 7 mm Rem Mags and this gun with other 160 grain bullets, I was able to use several grains more powder than they suggest is maximum. This latest Barnes Manual (number 4) has several cartridges that I think they are publishing very mild data for. The 7 mm Rem Mag and the 300 RUM come to mind. Most other cartridges are showing loads very consistant with other manuals or information. I am not suggesting you use charges over those that Barnes suggests are maximum. I am only stating that I have in this particular case with no problems whatsoever. R Flowers

I did notice that Federal's factory load for the 160gr tsx has a higher velocity than the top load that Barnes lists on their website. I'm basically going to try to duplicate the Fed Premium load.
