My 270Win likes the 140gr Xbt. I recovered 1 bullet from a small bull elk. Distance to the elk was about 10 feet, and the recovered bullet weighed 140grs, with a picture perfect mushroom. This is the only X bullet I have recovered from big game. I have recovered a few 45gr Xbt's from coyotes, shot with my 22Hornet, and it's the same story. I don't think you can get a better game bullet than the X. Fred in Colorado

Mark, I used this bullet this past May if Africa to take warthog and impala with my 7x57. It worked great. I've also used the 120gr X bullet to take deer here in WA state with great results. X bullets work great if they will shoot well in your rifle.

I have shot over a dozen whitetails with the 140 grain X bullet or the 140 grain XLC coated bullet. Both perform the same. I started with the 280 Remington, and now I have a 280 Ackley Improved. Muzzle velocity is 3175 fps with the coated bullets. In all situations, bullet performance was awesome in both expansion and penetration. No bullets remained in the animals. One was a "texas neck shot" on a nice buck that was facing away. Bullet entered just to the right of the tail, and exited under the left shoulder. With this bullet in the 7mm, performance will be equal to a larger caliber rifle.

I tried this bullet in my 7mm Gibbs, 7mm-08, 284 Win, and 7 STW. I had great hopes, as the 130 gr XFB shoots tiny little groups in my 270. Unfortunately, I was doomed to disappointment. I could not get any of these rifles to group under 2" with that bullet. The 160's worked good in the 7 STW, and the 130's worked in the 7mm-08. Very, very good game bullets if your rifle likes them. - Dan
