This is my first post here, and would like to give everybody a big howdy/how are y'all.
This has probably been hashed/rehashed here, and elsewhere, but I can't find any data on this powder, and cartridge combo. This powder was supposedly made specifically for short mag cartridges.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh,by the way......the rifle I'm using is a remington 700 built in 1981.
Thanks again,and happy shootin'.

I use IMR 4350 in my 350 Mag with a 225 gr bullet in my M700 Classic. This works well for me, good accuracy, not much recoil and effective on game. I don't have the actual data since that rifle is in CO and I'm in VA right now.

Welcome! I wish I could help but I haven't done much load development on my 350 Rem Mag and I've only used TAC. According to John Barsness, TAC gets the most out of the 350.

All of the .350 RM powders that I've used are way faster than RL17; you're probably thinking of the .270 WSM, 7mm WSM, 7mm SAUM, etc.

FWIW, I've had terrific accuracy with 3031 and the 200 grain Hornady soft point. One discrepancy: the current Lyman manual shows a max charge a full 6 grains lower than the max charge shown on the Hornady site. In my rifle, the Lyman data seems much more accurate than the Hornady data, as a load a full 1.5 grains under Hornady max produced exceedingly hard bolt lift in my rifle. As always, ymmv.

I have had good luck with BL-C (2) with 200gr or 225gr bullets. I have also loaded up some with IMR 4895 and had satisfactory results. The BL-C (2) has been my most accurate powder to date. I am shooting a Remington Model 7.

Ramshot TAC and the 200gr Barnes TSX seems to be close to the ideal load for the 350RM. I loaded up some for my Zim trip last year. Sub-1" groups and 2900+ fps velocity out of my M700 classics.

Then I got some prototype CEB Raptors and used those instead on my hunt. 175gr and ~3050fps. Going to try a couple slightly faster powders to see if I can break 3100fps.

Howdy Y'all,
I'll give TAC a try if I can find some.
How did those 175 raptors work, and what animals did you use them on??
Just wondering............

What charge of TAC did you use with the Raptors?

I have shot a 700 Classic in 350 since they came out with that gun. Always wanted a 600 but never found one cheap enough. I used IMR 3031 for most of my loads. Later used RL-12 which worked great also. IMR 4320 is also a good powder and I don't see why RL-15 wouldn't work good too. Anything slower isn't going to give you full velocity. THe 350 is a great killer. Took mine on my first Africa trip as my light rifle. Hammered Gemsbok and Kudu with it. I used 225 Swift for that hunt. I like the old 250 grain softs for most other hunting.

I have found the Raptors to require a much faster burning powder than one would normally consider. I have some Raptors on the way for my model 600 in 350Rem Mag and I am going to try H322 and Benchmark.

Alliant itself seems to recommend (by virtue of only listing) RL 7 for the 350 Rem Mag.

RL 7 is only slightly faster than 4198!

You do not specify barrel length, which could be a deciding factor to try slower powders like RL 17 that is only slightly slower than 4350.

My Ruger M77 .350 Rem shoots best with IMR 4064 and RL-15. I dont think it will hold enough RL-17 to get top velocities. I tried a 245 grain cast bullet with a compressed load of RL-22. It was really accurate and shot 2050 fps.

64gr. It's a compressed load.

I've got some Benchmark and Accurate 2200 for further testing.
