Q. A very few of my reference books mention in passing that MAS may have factory produced the MAS 36 in a sporter version as well as in the standard French military versions.

Is that true? Have you ever fired or even seen a MAS 36-Sporter?

My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

Thank you, Thirdbite.

Frank de Haas also refers to this sporter as being available in 7x64, 8x60, and 10.75x68, in the chapter on French rifles in his publication "Bolt Action Rifles". But he had never seen one.
