Well guy's finally figured it out, scope is totally screwed, bushnell 3x9 lighted cross hair, installed 3x9 bushnell dawsk till dawn, never purchase a nother bushnell again, had it with them , had them for 32 yrs. the only one i have not sent back for repair is the one on it,go'n moose hunt,n in 3 week,s. Never again with a bushnell. Any way, got my buddy who reloaded 165 gr. hornady at 45 gr. for me, unbeleavable groups, 1 in. at 100 yds. tryed the 180 federal HE's again , can't even compare. 2 in. group at 100 yds. I'm just pickled pink, can hardly wait for the moose hunt. I shoot a 99-c savage, wich i know every one hait's for a accurate rifle, but i am happy and confident. got to get into reloading myself. All the best to you hunter's for the up-coming hunt and have a good time. Rick.

I was at the range last saturday and a fellow was shooting a 99 Savage with a Tasco on it, he couldn't hit a 5 gallon bucket at a hundred yards. I offered him 150 dollars for it and he bit. Well you could hear the scope rattle when you shook the rifle so I put a different one on it and it shoots under two inches with Remington 180 factory ammo, what he gave me with the rifle. This rifle is an E model with the safety on the bottom and in very good condition. I am working up a load with the 165 core lokt and 4064 powder and I bet I can beat that factory load.

Ive heard some good reports of accuracy from 99s. Will be intrested in hearing which scope your going to select next. The luminated crosshairs sounds a little too flashy for my taste though, more parts to malfunction.

Rick,
$150.00 for a 99 in very good condition... Ok can I be sick now? I just paid $325 for mine and its an "E" just like yours in very nice shape, oh well, I still like it. Whats yours chambered in? Mine is a 300 Savage and Im sure that I will smoke factory loads as well, Re15 behind 165 gamekings did a bang up job in my older 300. I havent had time to properly sight my 99 in yet though although I did fire a quick salvo today off hand. I wish I would have found that gun 20 yrs ago.
