Anybody know if this is a good deal?
I really want a rifle like this, but don't know what it's worth. I've seen some go for $700.
Please check it out and let me know,
Thanks.

300,
Send a PM to ALF on this one. He probably knows the most about vintage bolt actions of anyone on this forum. If you're a good "garagesmith" you could probably deal with the buttstock's difficulties and have a very decent African Light . . . if ALF gives the O.K. on it's long term reliability and safety. Didn't someone say "With a .303 and a .404, you don't need anything else"?

Sarge,
I just saw this rifle today and the auction's ending in 50 minutes. I probably won't hear from ALF in time to make a decisionFrowner. Reminds me of the rifle Patterson used in Tsavo, and it has a near mint Westley Richards barrel/bore.

Sarge,
It sold for $605. Shoulda bought it. I guess that will go on the "oh I wish I would have bought" list. Bad timing, I guess.

No, it goes on the "O.K., now I know what to be on the look out for. Let's see someone else grab it away from me next time!" list. And don't worry about competition from this end, I've already got my vintage light and being more of a 'user' than an 'accumulator' won't get another . . . however tempting the price. Damn! $605.17, did someone steal that or what.
