I know there was a thread about this a couple of months ago, but I wanted to add my thanks to the forum members. I was looking for an inexpensive .270 or 30-06. After reading several comments on a couple of threads here, I narrowed my choices down to a Marlin XL-7 or a Stevens 200. I just didn't like the feel of the Stevens stock, and went with the Marlin, in 30-06. I put a Nikon Prostaff on it - again after reviewing a lot of comments here. After barrel break-in and sighting-in, I'm almost always getting 1 inch 3-shot groups with factory ammo - Remington Core-Lokt 165 gr. 5 shot groups tend to be a bit larger, but not by much, and when that happens I know it's my fault, not the rifle's. Again, thanks to the forum members for the advice and information sharing - to me, that's what makes AR a great forum.

Hey Rolly, Thanks for the Report. Always nice to see someone get an accurate rifle, especially at a great price. Good Hunting and clean 1-shot Kills.

Rolly... And thank you for your report!...I can't wait for then to come out in their short action 708...I am hope someone will build a action wrench and offer after market barrels at a affordable price so we can make them into switch barrel rifles like people have done with their Savages...
