Sorry Doc, just for show, didn't mean to mislead anyone. It doesn't seem like many left hand projects get posted, so I just wanted to share mine with the forum. Just got a new digital camera and wanted to try posting some pictures to this forum. Regards, Wayne E.

Excellant!!! My kind of rifle. What model is the stock based on...the supegrade? Or, is the Edge it's own format?

Very nice. I'd like to do something similar in 300 H&H, just for the sake of doing so with another classic old cartridge since I already have several '06s in a double, single shot and a bolt. ______________________ Guns are like parachutes. Doug, the Edge is both a stock style and a fabrication style. The stock style is listed as the Hunters EDGE ultralight on McMillan's website. Look here You can also get the EDGE technology (eg graphite/resin construction) applied to any of the other McMillan stock styles. For example, you could specify the Winchester Supergrade stock style with Edge technology. McMillan charges more for the Edge technology stocks than for their regular styles. If you are looking for a lightweight stock, I think they are worth the money. They are light (the one you see above weighs 22.9 ounces with studs, paint, bedding, and one inch pad)and they are very stiff. Regards, Wayne E.

Steve, I was like you until a couple of years ago when I found a used left hand Mauser 3000 in .375H&H. I've since bought a CZ 452 .22 lefty. While I don't feel handicapped with my right hand rifles it sure is fun shooting a rifle the way it was designed to be shot. Sam

I didn't mean to scare you Steve. The .300 ran around $4500 with the Swaro scope and all whistles and bells. Fits me like a glove. I don't have the talley on the .375 yet, but I'll keep you posted!

goto, I read this yesterday and just now made it up off the floor (I was really spring turkey hunting) that is a nice chunk-o-change...but I guess you get what ya pay for. I will need 2 full time jobs (scratch head - that won't work!) Thank you for the info. Steve

It really isn't that bad if you want to go to cheaper optics. Also, having a 12 1/4" LOP costs extra - so much for every quarter inch lower than 13 1/2. I don't get it - less material, more money? Also, if you didn't want the muzzle break that knocks off a little over $200. Bottom line for me is that at my size, being left-handed, and finding a gun that is perfect when I first put it up to my shoulder can't be beat.

I never have understood the "less material more cost" thing. Like why is a size 11 boot the same price as a size 13 or size 8?

Silly Rabbit... The first thing I learned in flight school is NEVER fly in any aircraft where the wings are going faster than the fuselage.

Most American hunters have manys guns (myself included). I've often thought I'd be better off selling most of them and get 5 or 6 (depending on your needs)higher quality guns. Goto these 2 rifles will be great for 95% of most big game hunting. Spending $9000 for that doesn't seem too bad.
