ps- How were the groups w/ the 3 powders you tested the other day?

Better than my first outing with the RL22 load grouping best - down to about 1 1/4" at 100 yards, and I'm no benchrest shooter

The rifle seems to be getting more accurate. Whether that's down to the hotter loads or just bedding in I don't know. I'm confident I'll hit 3100fps next time

Ray, you are both right and wrong. Close to the muzzle the slower bullet might perform better, but not at 500 yds.

I have found it all depends on bullet selected and powder matched to it.Last year I loaded 154 SST with 71 gr- H1000 in my Ruger with a 25" Shilen bbl. I didn't chrono the load just selected the most accurate for deer hunting. To my surprise I'm getting 3200 fps chrono'd this spring.I like RL 19 65.5 for 3250 for 140 gr interbond bullets.Don't load these of course without working up to them as usual.
