I've had a particular bone for a certain rifle, a Mossberg 4x4, in walnut. But I don't need or want two centerfires in the same caliber. I already have a Stevens 200 in .270. Owning it was an accident of deals made and broken by others. Well today a guy at work offered me a decent price for the Stevens (a damn straight shooter). I was starting to look at customizing it, instead I'm running with the money. I came home and ordered the 4x4. Very timely since I was also about to give up and get the 4x4 in 25-06. Now, I can save that caliber for something else I don't need. Big Grin

Yeah, I heard about it. I have a real problem with claims that a gun just went off on it's own while being passed between two people. Most likely just a mishandling (stupidity) issue. We have a fellow at work who just blew the bolt out of a 10-22 Ruger, brand new. They gave him a 77 Hawkeye in 300 Win to placate him. So now I guess 10-22 qualifies as a total piece of crap as well. If you doubt me, his name is Brad Pardall.

And my last 3 purchases are Savage 14 Classic, Remington 700, and Ruger Hawkeye. Not most people's idea of "crap".
