Please tell me everthing I need to know about the icon's. I'm looking for guys that owned them. Hows the accuracy, fit & finish? Do you like them for the price? Any info out there would be greatly appreciated. I all the sudden have an itch for one of these in 3006 and just wanted to hear some real world experience. Thanks.

I own two. One is a .308 Win in the ultrawood and the other is a .243 Win in Weather Shield. Both guns shoot very good. They are slightly heavier guns than my Browning's, Tikka's. The 5R rifling seems to produce good accuracy. The fit and finish is also good, but personally I like a slightly lighter gun for walk about /stalking gun. I have recommended Icons to friends and several have purchased them after shooting one of mine. The ultrawood grain is real nice. I really don't personally have any cons except weight and that is not really a bad thing because it soaks up recoil and makes a great stand gun.

Not sure about the Icon but here's a Venture. It's in 300WSM, single stack plastic mag, hard bolt lift if you're not expecting it. (3 lug 60 degree bolt). A buddy got it this week. Will report back after we fire it.

I've had one for several years now, it is a 30 TC. It does fine, but as to caliber, the 30 TC is silly, not enough difference from 308 to be worth it. Mine was a gift, so I took it as is, and recently learned it would be a rebarrel to go to 308, the TC has LESS body taper.

I like the rifle a ton. It took about 75-100 rounds for it to really settle in. It has a preference for 150 grain pills, and also shoots the 130 gr Barnes TTSX really, really well!

Other mfgs need to get on board with the integral rail, that is a great feature. Safety is a little odd, it is a 3 position deal, with only one of them being safe, the other positions are both fire conditions, but the bolt can be locked in the second position. The trigger is good, easily adjustable for weight with a small allen wrench. I wish you could put a remmy geometry trigger into it (a jewell) but no go according to TC. Mine is the realtreeor whatever camo, and stainless weathershield veersion, which it has proven to really be, I've been in some real mud muck rain without issues. The stock is solid, and yes a little heavy, but frankly I just don't notice that. The magazines are plastic, but function well, and are cheap enough that you should get a couple spares. The fact that you can change bolt handles easily is kind of cool, mine came with the standard round bolt handle, and I like it, I do think the handle should have a little sweep to it, the straight down geometry makes it a little awkward to me--but that may be just me....it is a 60 degree bolt lift, which I really prefer.

I used Low Leupy pic rings, and a 50 mm objective Swaro clears just fine.

Have killed several big ol feral hogs with it and the 130 Barnes--a straight hammer. Also blistered a BIG Kentucky buck, one shot and straight drop to the ground, about 130 yards.

Gun cleans up easily, I like the barrel, and I am really a fan--if I could put a Jewell in them, I would probably own 2 or 3 more real fast.....Funny thing, the rifles I like functionally a lot, don't have the ability to put a remmy geometry trigger in them--Oh how I wish that would work for a Sako....

In my opinion the icons are pound for pound the best gun for the money you can buy. When you consider details like the full length bedding and quality bbl.I own 3. I also have weatherby ultralights,REM 700 mtn. and other lights. I always said that if an added 16ozs hurts you, then you might want to just stay in the truck. Mine all shot sub moa with handloads. I'm not sure what year Smith and Wesson bought TC Arms but, I hope they don't sacrifice quality for profit.
