Had a little smile to my self on reading the latest Aust. Guns & Game. They quite often have "tests" on cz's, there is never anything wrong with them, so the articals run like an ad. Well, the editor Breil Jackson got his just desserts with a trip to inspect the cz plant. Very informative, well written, heaps of photos, but horror of horrors. . . They sprung a new model on him. A cz 555 PUSH FEED, small extractor, enclosed bolt head, etc etc , which left Briel "bewildered". I can't wait to read their inevitable "test". But in Czech. it apparently actually worked. Imagine that. Ar well, at least he complained about bolt handles getting in the way of scopes, and hopefully a few other cz peculularities.

I've checked their website from where I took this excerpt : "CZ 555. The CZ 555 series represents a new line of elegant, aesthetic and ergonomically designed rifles based on the CZ 550 line. The rifles are provided with a short extractor and lateral discharge of the magazine." Considring this description and the photo, I really don´t understand the PUSH FEED issue... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ColdBore 1.0 - the ballistics/reloading software solution http://www.patagoniaballistics.com

Most of us simply don't want them! And if you don't believe me, just check the asking prices of CRF Winchester model 70s VS the push feed model. But then again, most of the auction sites have quite a few on auction, and very little in the way of bids! Speculators have pushed up the prices, and probably have purchased what they want by now. Those of us looking for USING guns aren't buying at those inflated prices!

Don, sorry for my miswriting. I agree 100% that CRF is the way to go, and it's shame if CZ goes push feed... In fact, while not owning not one CZ rifle, I have them in my highest regard. NEVER saw one that was not super accurate, tough and well constructed. The only reason I don´t have one, is because I like my rifles with stainless steel and synthetic stocks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ColdBore 1.0 - the ballistics/reloading software solution http://www.patagoniaballistics.com
