My good gun friend,Swung by today and showed me a 16ga SXS,with a 9.3x72R made by Rob Hubner....Now I'm in N.W Vermont,I have never handled a drilling and this was soooo sweet ! I have only seen these in books,and I have never handles one,what a fine piece of crafsmanship !

The question(s) are ....The proof marks,equal what ?How many were made and what's it worth ??? We ordered ammo for it today Red Face)

While very cool, drillings like this aren't worth a huge amount (considering how much work went into making it!) This is probably in the $1200-2000 range. It looks like a blitz action which is common.

Don't shoot basic 16 gauge ammo if you can help it. Your gun will have 2 1/2 inch chambers. If you can't find 2.5" ammo (try Polywad or RST), try to find the lowest powered (low dram equiv) 2.75 ammo. I have used regular Remington field loads with no visible effects, but 2.5" shells are what it is made for.
