$350 is a decent price, not great but not bad. Just about every aftermarket stock co. makes a stock for it. You'll want the ones that say post '64. As for accuracy, there are to many unknown variables to say you should EXPECT sub MOA. I have two customs built off the XTR I like them fine.

It's a fine rifle and a fine price and if you do your job it's going to please you in the accuracy department.

i ended up paying $340 for the rifle. it came with rings, mounts and a nice double case. upon further inspection, i noticed the action/lug and the first 2" of the barrel had been glass bedded. also, the trigger was adjusted a bit light maybe 2#s. i'll have to wait till after Christmas to shoot it (santa got me some reloading dies and bullets Wink ) i am planning on shooting 130gr pills, any recommendations for powders?

Both of my 270's thrive on 60 gr. of H4831 and a 130 gr. Ballistic Tip.

I sold my XTR 7Mag to my buddy when I was in the AF, the rifle shot an honest 1/2" 3 shot group once I loaded up some 154 Hornadys and a load of IMR4831. 270 should've no problem getting close to that. What the waxman said, H4831, and if you want to put an aftermarket stock on it, H-S Precision is whats on my model 70 '06. thumb Jay

well i got to shoot the xtr today and was pleasantly surprised. when working up a load, i only load 2 rounds of a given combination. the first group was 1.256" edge to edge. the next was 0.891" ETE. the last and max load per manual was 0.288" ETE Big Grin i think this will be a shooter!!!!
