Well you guys finally got to me and I just received my first 9.3x62, a custom job based on a VZ-24 Mauser action. It's on a really nice piece of English walnut and has a quarter rib with one standing and two folding leaf sights. However it has the original Mauser safety on it as well. I plan to mount a 1.75x6 Leupold on the gun using Warne rings if possible and my question is............should I modify the safety and put on a winchester style two position from Brownell's or leave it as is and work around it? If I need to change it, who do you recommend. Thanks!

This is the post-war FN model. It is a drop-in replacement and functions as the original. It only comes up in a 45 degree arc to the safe position, so a scope can be low mounted.

That safety was also available on Parker Hales, if you're looking for used ones. - Dan

If I had a real nice custom rifle I would want a 3 position M-70 Safty on it...You can get one from Brownells.
