Gidday Guys,

Personally I don't give a great rats where the cartridges came from as long as they drop whatever I aim them at. They all seem pretty efficient at that.

Can't seem to get my head around short fat chicks or cartridges though, whether they come from the States or Europe.

Happy Hunting

A 7x57 (Euro) is something every shooter should have in the safe and mine is kept company by a 404,(Brit) 20VT (yank), 6.5 GM (my own wildcat-so NZ) and a Lott being another yank so a little accross the board representation.

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

I shot a Ruger #1 in 7x57 for many years but now my favorite is an FN 98 in 6.5x55. It has a Walther/Lother tight necked barrel (.292") so all the brass has to be neck turned. But... Vh150 powder and Sierra 120gr Mk's will produce 10 shot groups inside of a nickle at 200 yards.
I'm sorry to say that last year the #1 was rebarreled to 405 Win. It's alot of fun but the 7x57 will sorely be missed.

I guess I lived in Europe too long but I really like the medium, easy shooting Euro calibers...and they get the job done with great efficiency.
