I was given an old Remington pump in the above caliber., along with some new brass formed from 30 Remington caliber brass. I primed a couple pcs of brass with some CCI primers.I chambered one of the shells (primed only no powder or bullet)and fired it ,the primer went off,but upon inspection the primer was backed out about half way,it did so on 2 other shells. The question I guess is ,am I looking at a head spacing problem? And should I just put the old girl up on the wall? Thanks for all replys. 1Longbow

I'm just wondering if they backed out because there was no pressure to push them back in. Thats what happens when you load a low pressure round, anyways. I doubt there's that much excessive headspace in the old girl. BTW, 31grs. Benchmark and a 170 Hornady. Jay

If you can expand the 30 rems. to .35 cal. and neck it down so it just chambers you'll be in business. If you can single load with the bullet just out far enough to give you good head space that might work. The Third option is to send it to me and let me see what I can do in the next couple of years. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! If you oil the case it will come back over the primer and fill out the chamber. Then use full loads. Good luck!
