I have been trying to develop loads for my Browning BLR 81 .358 Win. A friend gave me some 220 gr Speer flat points and I have on load that is giving 1 1/2" groups @ 100yards doing 2400fps but have no idea how this bullet performs on deer. The only experiences I've had with Speer bullets involved small bores and high velocity and the bullets performed poorly to me (read blowup).Has anyone used this bullet???

I have killed a couple of 8 point whitetails the last two years with the 220g Speer flatpoint out of a .358 bolt Remington. The bullets performed well, both were pass throughs. First deer ran about 40 yards and second deer ran about 15 yards. Excellent blood trail in the first and the 2nd had not really started to bleed before he fell over and turned upside down dead as a hammer. Both deer were in the woods at about 20 yards and 50 yards. I have been using 50g of Win 748 with the Speer 220 flatpoint. Try them-I think you will be pleased. Plateau Hunter

They perform very well on deer and bear in the 35 Rem, 358 Win, and 356 Win. They shoot well in my Whelen and .350 Rem Mag, but seem to open a little too fast and make too big a hole on the other side. The 250 Speer seems to work better in the Whelen and .350 Mag. WN
