I have a very prety rifle chamberd for 6.5X57. its a mauser probably a yougo, There is nothing rong with it at all it shoots quite well. I really do not use it much ,it has a 26 inch barrel i,ve tried using a clening rod to figure out the twist but it comes out different each time. Seems to me a prety simple job to have my smith turn it back say half an inch or less and rechamber. Should pep it up a bit and would certanly be a more valuable rifle in the more popular chambering. Dies would be no problem and brass is factory now, so the advantages are prety clear. What do you think ? ...tj3006 freedom1st

go for it, wouldn't 6.5-06 be equally as good and more practical. but then again norma offers factory ammo for the -284.

The rifle is built on a mauser, with the action long enough for an 06 , but the magizine is to short. But thanks for the thought ! ...tj3006 freedom1st

No it ain't! But you do need a bunch of work on the feed rails. Jim Kobe 10841 Oxborough Ave So Bloomington MN 55437 952.884.6031 Professional member American Custom Gunmakers Guild
