zimbabweBiggest you've taken with 7mm?
Have shot probably 1/2 dozen Kudu to ranges out to 300 yds with my 7x57 with 175gr Nosler Partitions.I would have no hesitation using it on Wildebeest or anything similar sized.

So,.. were you using 7mm bullets, using 7mm ammo in the gun, or what?
Congrats on your fun but not on topic.

CustomstoxI shot a 60" (green score) kudu in RSA with a 7x57 and a shiras moose in Washington with the same gun.

lee440On a recent pg safari, I used a 280 rem for the first time. I loaded 175 grain Swift A-Frames over a mild load of R-19 for 2563 fps, really about 7x57 velocity. I shot a 60" Kudu at 280 yds. the bullet broke both shoulders and kept on going and the bull was DRT. I shot a Zebra stallion, frontal chest shot @50 yds, DRT. Next was a nice Gembock at 120 yds -bang/flop. My wife used the rifle and shot a beautiful 57" Kudu bull @100yds, he ran about 75 yds for a finishing shot, but he was just dead and did not know it. All of the above animals were pass-thru's, no bullet recovered excepting the Zebra. My alltime favorite is the 7x57, but I like all of the non-magnum 7mms, they just do everything really well, without a lot of fuss and bother.

T AggI've shot four Cape Kudu, Eland, Zebra, Nilgai and lot of hogs with a little Remington model 7 7-08. Now wait for it--- Remington Core-Lok 140 grain.

AtkinsonI have taken Nilgai, Eland, one cape buffalo, partook in a Hippo shooting with the 7x57..I observed a elephant killed with a 7x57 and a heart or lung shot..He ran about 100 or 150 yards and died..pretty impressive.
