My custom LH 35 Whelen built by Gary Stiles is finally done! And AHEAD of schedule by 4 months! Don't hear that often. Anyway.....he had it on display at a gun show & I took some pictures. He still has a few minor things to do but it is 98% right now. I am more than pleased. The Turkish blank I bought from Ray atkinson turned out very nice. These pictures do not do it justice. I was not able to get many good shots in the tight confines of the show. I will take better ones when I pick it up. All I need to do now is get the rest of the $$$ together. Hopefully by months end so I can bring it home
I have another action with him now....it will be a 280.

My goodness...that action has the bolt on the wrong side! roll eyes. Well, she sure is a beauty and will serve you well. What was the mother action? There is some nice wood there. Great caliber too! Regards, Rick.
John Deer tractors and Sako rifles....just doesn't get much better.
I can't wait to get this baby home & work up some loads. I will be putting a Leupold 2.5-8x scope on top. The peep on it now is a "just i case" back up.

I will have to ask Gary about the apeture. I thought he said it was a talley....but can't recall for certain. I had thought about using a quarter rib express type rear sight but knew I'd be using a scope 99% of the time.Gary suggested this set up. He still has to decipher the height of the front bead & install it so it works with the peep
