I am looking to load either 150gr or 165gr TSX's. Any suggestions. Perry

Sure.. First.. what are you going to use it for? If deer and medium game then a 150 gr TSX is plenty. If your looking to hunt a broader spectrum of game up to Elk then the 165 TSX will be a little better. I think you'll be pleased no matter which you decide tho.

Yep Varget is prolly the best to start with. Win ball 748 or 760 are also pretty good. Sounds like the 150 gr. will be ideal then. Any decent bbl in 308 winny should deliver very fine accuracy. You should have quite a shooter there when it all comes together. Best of luck Perry.

I've been building loads for my Savage and Tikka and both show excellent accuracy with IMR 4895 and IMR 4064 . I'm not using the Varget yet as the other two are right where I want them . 42 - 45 grains comes to mind but You need to check a manual to confirm that as I don't have them listed in this computer . Only in the one between my ears and it's not as reliable as it once was !!!.

Barnes #4 manual shows with a 150 gr TSX that H4895 is the most accurate load tested and the max load has good velocity at 2,854 fps while giving a load density of 99%. starting load of 42.5 gr yields 2,701 fps. max load of 45.0 yields 2,854 fps.
