Guys and gals, I have shot up the last of my Hornaday 33 winchester jacketed bullets,,do any of you know of another company offering jacketed flat pointed .338 that can be used in the 33 winchester.. Or maybe its just time to have it rebarreled to 38-56, and use the .375 flat points Stay Alert,Stay Alive Niet geschoten is altijd mis Hate of America is the defeat position of failed individuals and the failing state

Could you grind off the meplate on something like the Speer or Winchester 200 grain bullet for the .338 Win? Alternatively, could the Nosler 180 Ballistic Tip be used safely like the Hornady Leverevolution? Just a couple of suggestions. I'd hate to see radical surgery performed on a good old .33 Winchester!

There are the obvious sources. Huntington's and Western Scrounger will have them if anyone does. You can put a search on Ebay so you will be notified if any odd lots come up for auction. Less obviously, you can check the swaging board here to see if anyone is swaging .338 RN and would be willing to do a batch for you. You could also call the Corbins and see if they have sold .338 swaging dies to any of their commercial customers. Me, I'd go to cast bullets. The .33 WCF is a natural cast bullet cartridge. Beartooth Bullets makes a cast flatpoint at 235 gr. I am shooting a 240 gr cast flatpoint. It should hit hard but haven't killed any game with it yet. Check with Mt Baldy in Cody WY for the 240 gr. You could probably get close to the 200 gr in a cast bullet if you wish. Cast or jacketed - either way good luck. What rifle are you using it in? Mine is an early smokeless powder frame gun. An 86 made in 1906 I believe. Later Packy

That would be a neat trick considering Nosler don't make a 215! There's a box of flatpoint speer 200 grainers on ebay right now.
