Got some of these on sale at Midway to try in a fairly new 7WSM. To say they shoot good would be an understatement. Two, three shot groups went around .27 and .32, with 67.5 grains of WXR at 3,070 fps. my best ever groups with a hunting rifle. Since I have no other experience with these bullets (always scared they would not group well : )my question is two fold, 1.Can I use these bullets reliabely on whitetail and other smaller big game animals? 2.Do you think Barnes will keep its line of XLC's around?

The bad news is that Barnes is probably going to discontinue all of the XLC bullets. I don't know this as fact but some of the one's I've tried to order lately have been listed as discontinued. Some people close to the Brooks' have suggested that eventually all of Barnes line will be changed over to the Triple-shocks. The good news is that the Triple-Shocks are generally better. If you don't shoot a lot stock up on XLC's why you can and hunt with them until you run out. Otherwise you might want to work up a Triple-shock load......DJ
