duckster I had the same question(s) a few weeks ago before I started working up a load for a Kimber 84M Montana in .308Win. BOY, was I surprised! I started with 125 grain bullets, then 150's. Frankly, I don't think the recoil is any more than my M700 .243!!!! I also tried some 165's--not bad. Just for grins I tried some 180 grainers and was pleasantly surprised. I think their combination of stock/recoil pad is a major reason for this. This particular rifle seems to like 150 Hornadys best although the 165's work pretty well too. R-15 works best so far. Thanks for the help guys. I am going to look around a little and maybe find someone at a local range who has one that I could take a shot or two with. Not a lot of folks around here are into their rifles enough to shell out 1K or so for a rifle though! | |||
