Did Westley Richards build/sell Mauser action rifles with double-set-triggers? I've seen lots of pictures, but none with double-set-triggers. Captdavid

I have not seen a WR Mauser with set triggers ( not referring to the WR branded Mannlicher and other imports) WR as other Makers sold under their name branded rifles from other Euro makers.

If on special order, they at one time would do anything you asked, but it would also be easy enough to install a set of double set triggers..Check the size of your trigger guard, that should tell you if its factory or add on, double set triggers from folks like WR would probably use a large glove size trigger such as you see on mod. 21 Brnos or other makes.

The context of the question needs to be addressed. I believe Captdavid asked whether WR fitted their rifles with double set triggers because he plans to build a WR styled copy.

To answer the question we need to look at what WR offered and what not.

WR offered two types of rifle, the first their own "in house built" Best WR rifles to a very distinct style, so distinct as identifying car models in the street.

The second type of rifle were simply branded rifles from other makers.

We see then mainly Mannlicher Schoenauers and stock Mauser rifles, both with the double set trigger as a option.

WR branded 275's ( 7x57 Mausers) and 6.5 and 9.5 MS rifles They offered the Mausers in 318 and 425 and these were bar die WR makers logo's essentially stock Mausers.

Their own style on the other hand was a different animal. I have to date not had through my hands a 318 WR in their "in house" best model with a double set trigger and I have looked at many many of them in my quest to find one which did not have a corroded barrel or was rebarreled !
