I have not tried them but wouldn't hesitate to use them for coyote of pronghorns for that matter.

| I'd also think it would be an excellent game bullet for those small of stature, or kids just starting out. |

| Wont' say where I got some, but let's just say it is a hot pellet out of my 22" barrel rig. I will be trying to put one through an antelope this fall--but CAN tell you it will put the hammer on a coyote--or 5!
One coy dog came slipping down the edge of the main road at our property, scanning about for the dying rabbit call we were using, he stopped quartering away at 412 (lasered) and whammo! Sitting with the harris bi-pods it was a classic DRT. Total pass through, insides soup, entry on point of near shoulder, exit very near, but in front of, rear hip.
From my experience it was like a lot of TSX's I have fooled with, I had to get the powder charge up there for maximum accuracy.
Give em a try! |

| Hey Fish - have any idea how fast your running those things? Also, what did the entry/exit wounds on those song dogs look like? They're hardly worth enough money to save anymore, but I still feel indepted to do so. |

| I'm curious as to how they performs as well. The 110 is going plenty fast for my brother's rifle and mine, but my curiosity is peaked with the 85.

| .277 90g Sierra HPBTs at 3500 fps have always worked for me. Lots of crows and marmots and one 30' tall lodgepole pine to it's credit. Chuck

| PG, I chronoed the first loads which were well below the charge I ended up at, and they were running +/- 3550. I am guessing that I am pushing 3650--3700 now, with a 25" tube. The rifle I use them in is only a 22" tube (really light rig) and I think I am probably around 3500 with that one. It is very flat out to 400 ish, haven't done a lot of shooting beyond that, just some pop bottles and such a few times, but the difference between zero at 100 and the drop on our 300 yard range is very minimal. The light weight might start hurting after 400 ish, if it isn't already at 300.
They didn't leave a lot of damage on the yotes, pinhole entry, and maybe nickel size exit, one of em hit the shoulder going out, and it was a bit of mess there, I don't keep them unless their hide is really special, but I wouldn't be concerned about a lot of damage, I have had worse with a 130 gr BT.
They are very accurate if I didn't state that earlier. |
