| i have 2 BAR... i in 7 rem mag's...and another 1 in 300 win mag... both are marked the same as yours.... yesterday i saw a .243 that was only marked "made in belgium"....it was weak in bluing, scratched receiver... topped with a POS scope...seller has $695 on it.... a couple weeks ago i paid $550 for the 7 mag and 2 yrs ago i paid $400 for the 300 win mag.... im looking for a .338 now, don't want the BOSS system, and i'll trade the 7 mag or buy outright.... bluing isn't important, barrel is....

Wow--I found the sales slip and it says I bought it in 99 but it appears to be a 91 model. I remember that the Bar II came out just after I got this rifle. I can't explain the date on the sales slip as I thought I owned the gun longer than that. HMMM. Thanks for that much light shed on the subject though?

Well, I did some looking on gunbroker. Looks like people are trying to snowball the public by listing "Belgium Bar" just because it says made in Belgium. It would appear that the "real Mccoy" is the '75 and earlier models with the serial number with an "M" in it. Do I have this right??

My current BAR, a 2004 "Evolve" cal. 300WM has a lightweight receiver and it's marked "Made in Belgium". The previous was all steel and was marked "Made in Belgium-assembled in Portugal". I bought it in 96 or 97.

I would stay away from the completely made in Belgium older BAR...They are a bear to disasemble(have to remove the rear stock to get at the trigger group) and have some feeding problems. I almost bought one and right before plunking down the cash spoke to my Gunsmith who advised buying it. ,
