Nosler 140 Accubond. The 140g weight allows you enough velocity for flat shooting to 400 yards. Its .485 BC will take you beyond that distance better than most. The iceing on the cake is that this bullet will open up and hold its weight at any distance. Past 400 yards the TSX is a crap shoot, in my opin.

Seems to me Barnes used to make em, not sure if they do anymore or not. You're just wondering right, not thinking about long range with this bullet right? "GET TO THE HILL" Dogz

A 140 grain ballistic tip @2950 muzzle velocity will drift 8 inches in a 4 mph wind at 500 yards, just enough wind to lay long grass over. If that wind is fishtailing and given that you estimate it correctly but miss the shift, you will be off by over a foot(gutshot). Remember too that the same bullet will drop 21 inches between 400 and 500 yards so the range must be lasered, no one gets it close by eyeball at that distance. Now you may be an accomplished long range target marksman which will help in your wind reading abilities but 350 yards seems like a good limit even then on live game. If you would like to give 300+ yards a try come to Forbes Rifle and pistol club just outside albany, you can shoot back to 300 any day and we shoot 600 yards on Thursdays and have occasional 1000 yard practice days in addition to High power and Long Range matches, PM me if you'd like to go sometime(or maybe your already a member?) My advice for the best bullet for deer and antelope from 3 to 500 yards is a good pair of hiking boots

Mark is correct. Barnes made a 180 rn in their "original" bullets. They were intended for heavy game at modest ranges.Dominion and Imperial ammunition that was loaded by CIL in Canada also offered a 160 gr rn bullet for the 270. They are no longer made.
